Library and Community Centre

According to former Wyndham councillor and Williams Landing resident Aaron An, in the 2016-2020 term, Council had identified a wide range of services that are either missing or need close attention for the Williams Landing community. That includes Library Services, Community Activity Space, Family Services, Maternal and Child Health, Middle Year Services, Youth Services, Government School, Arts and Culture, Aged care, Disability Services, and Family Violence.

These local services have been missing for Williams Landing since the beginning of the suburb around 2007 (more than ten years now). Council worked for years to identify the needs, and the business cases and the Williams Landing Library and Community Centre project was committed by Council in the 2018-2019 budget and was a key project to address the above missing services.

However, the original Williams Landing Library and Community Centre project was replaced by a much smaller facility - Williams Landing Library Lounge. The facility opened to the public on Tuesday 16 August 2022. A wide range of activities, including Rhyme Time, Lego Club, Baby Time, Kids Club, Adult Social Hour to The Creative Cornerm English Conversation Cafe and Movie Club, are available throughout the week.

Former Wyndham councillor Aaron An expressed his mixed mode on local resident's Facebook group, stating that:

At this moment, my mood is mixed and complicated. Happy: after years of hard work, we finally had some basic services. Sad: the project has shrunk significantly compared to the original plan council committed in the 2018/2019 annual budget. Some may use the pandemic as an excuse, but I believe investing in infrastructure is a way to help rebuild the economy.
