New, better bus network proposed for Wyndham - community information session

Date:
Monday, 1 September, 2014 - 15:00 to 19:00
Location:
Williams Landing Station Concourse, Palmers Rd, Williams Landing, VIC 3027

Come along and have your say at a community information session for the new bus network proposed for the Wyndham area.

Key network features proposed are:

  • New fast, direct and more frequent routes along main roads – including Ballan, Tarneit, Derrimut, Morris and Sayers Roads, with services every 20 minutes during peak periods.
  • Expanded network coverage – with bus services extended to more parts of Wyndham Vale, Manor Lakes, Tarneit, Truganina, Williams Landing, Point Cook and Sanctuary Lakes.
  • Train connections at the new Wyndham Vale and Tarneit stations – on the Regional Rail Link for travel to both Geelong and Melbourne, with bus access from most parts of Wyndham.
  • More frequent day-time services – with buses operating every 20 minutes on weekdays along Tarneit Road, Ballan Road and Derrimut Road via Werribee Plaza.
  • Improved access to the Point Cook Town Centre and East Werribee – with a new east-west route between Hoppers Crossing and Laverton.
  • More destinations available for Seabrook and Altona Meadows residents – without having to change buses, including the Point Cook Town Centre, Hoppers Crossing Station and Aircraft Station shops during off-peak periods.
  • Better coordinated timetables – where possible, buses will be coordinated with Werribee and Geelong line trains in peak travel directions.

You are invited to drop in to a community information session to learn more about the proposed changes, ask questions, and provide feedback:

  • Monday, 1 September 2014, 3pm – 7pm on the station concourse, Williams Landing Station
  • Tuesday, 2 September 2014, 10am – 2pm outside Big W , Werribee Plaza, Derrimut Rd, Hoppers Crossing
  • Tuesday, 2 September 2014, 3pm – 6.30pm Kelly Park Centre, Synnot Street, Werribee
  • Thursday, 4 September 2014, 3pm – 7pm Wyndham Vale Community Learning Centre, Cnr Manor Lakes Blvd & Howqua Way, Wyndham Vale.

Your feedback is important and will be taken into account to help us to build a better bus network for Wyndham.

For those who cannot attend the sessions, information, maps and an online survey will be available on the website from Monday 25 August, so you can provide your feedback.
